TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — The pandemic isn't stopping families from moving, and that's keeping one industry busy.

One local moving company is taking steps to keep employees and customers safe and, if you're trying to make ends meet during this time of crisis, they might even have a job for you.

Shannon Colavecchio is settling in to her new 55彩票 in Tallahassee.

"I think if you try to cut corners in a move, it ends up costing you a lot more money," said Colavecchio.

Despite the pandemic, people like Colavecchio are still moving.

"You want to know that all the bases are covered," Colavecchio said.

Gloria Pugh is CEO at AMWAT Moving Warehousing Storage.

"Our biggest asset is our employees," said Pugh. "If they're not healthy, then we can't run our business."

She's been buying personal protective equipment and taking steps to keep you and workers safe.

"We take temperatures every single morning," Pugh said.

With moving season in full swing, the demand for that work is climbing right now. Pugh says they need up to half a dozen new employees, despite the effects of the pandemic.

"What we like to see are individuals who are team players, great attitude, like to follow instruction," said Pugh.

A lot of businesses are shutting down and laying people off, something that hasn't escaped Pugh.

"We feel so blessed," Pugh said. "We feel very fortunate."

Colavecchio is glad they're available to help, despite the inconvenience of a pandemic.

"It's temporary," said Colavecchio. "I have to keep reminding myself of that. We're healthy."

Pugh says workers with AMWAT can make $11 to $18 an hour. If you'd like to apply, .
